![]() Unlike the authors strengths, most of the weaknesses can be remedied with a bit more practice and editing. the love scene, the exploration of the city at the end. Finally, as mentioned before, there are several scenes that seem to happen just for the sake of happening, i.e. While definitely interesting and worthwhile to have, the characters engage in philosophical and ethical conversations that are out of place or prematurely brought to fore. To improve: some of the narration is confusing, both in the action scenes and dialogue. The secondary characters often adopt the voice of the main ones. He weaves an interesting story that keeps you guessing and makes you want to read on and learn more about the characters and the world they live in. On top of that, he's economical with his descriptions he draws excellent mental images without excessive "window-dressing." His plot construction, in a macro sense, is also quite good. The Good: Aurini does a fantastic job of building the environment he builds an elaborate world, with enough detail to give it an otherworldly feel while still keeping it relevant to our own times. That being said, there are some great highlights in the book and some room for improvement. ![]() Overall, the book was good and I am glad I purchased it.
